THE FRIDAY F#@& OFF: TransForce

For those of you who love Transformers and enjoy playing RTS’s then this Friday F#@& off will be right up your ally. Transforce is a beautiful mash up of Transformers and Civilization. If you’ve played Starcraft then you will find this game excruciatingly similar..if not exactly the same.

Transforce let’s you pic an avatar, one that you can not customise at all, and then which team you would prefer to be on, the Decepticons or the Autobots. I chose Decepticons because I would love to give Optomis Prime a nice kick in the metallic face. I also wouldn’t mind taking down the Autobots once and for all, they are pretty pretentious afterall. Anyway, the game is pretty simple, the only really irritating thing about the game is that the tutorial provides you with common knowladge and is essentially a 15 minute point-and-click waste of your resources. You end up building your entire base by the end of it and then you are left wondering what happened to all of your things. The tutorial robs you essentially. The rest of the game is fun and the hours you put into it will give you back the rewards you seek, it’s Starcraft with a transformers spin.

The game is also an MMO so now you can spend your Friday’s not only wasting your time at work, but someone else’s on the other side of the country. If your boss is being a total prick, then fire up this game and annihilate that bratty litttle ten year old you’ve been fighting with for a week. If you really want to feel better about yourself then just go back to work. The game is very fun for a web browser game though but I however, would love to see it make it’s way into becoming a downloadable game. They could do so much with it if the did.

TransForce gets a 3 out of 5. It’s fun to play if Starcraft or Transformers is your thing. It also yet again, wastes your time. It’s Friday afterall, so you might as well check it out. You could always end up discovering the best game in the world.
