Seattle Irish Festival 2011: Folk singer Dan Maher Highlights

Dan Maher is a Northwest folk singing treasure. He is a songfinder, collecting songs from recordings and artists, passing them to new audiences, and using them on one of his several CD recordings. His Celtic roots come through very much in the O’Carolan tradition. Dan also shares his deep knowledge of folk music by producing and hosting the Inland Folk radio show each week on Spokane Public Radio. He works at WSU in Pullman. For more information, visit ttp://inlandfolk.blogspot.com/.

The Festival features booths selling Irish and Celtic products, non-stop Irish music, singing, dancing, workshops, lectures, cultural displays, children’s contests and activities, etc. Festival Highlights also include Genealogy Workshops, Irish Language Workshops, Cultural Exhibits and more. Family-oriented activities include wonderful Irish Musicians along with Champion Irish Stepdancers from around the Pacific Northwest.
